Ashton House has just completed an extensive program of improvements in May 2017 to really improve the entire home.
The improvements have included :
These new facilities have really improved the entire environment for our residents
This Horsham Care Home in 2013 created 14 large ground floor bedrooms all with wet rooms facilities allowing the residents to shower in their own room. In 2017, 11 new rooms were added to our middle floor all with ensuite wetrooms. Each room has a nurse call bell whereby our residents and call for assistance when they require this.
The ground floor bedrooms all overlook the homes gardens and provide a quiet tranquil environment in which our residents can spend the day. However if they wish to enjoy the company of other residents they are close to the new 80 square metre giant conservatory.
The homes large 80 meter squared conservatory was designed by Ian Coupland of Richard Sheppard Structural engineering firm in Sussex and provides a large bright environment in which the residents join in with any activities provided the homes activity co-ordinators.
The large conservatory has blinds through out and also in the ceiling whereby and glare can be reduced if so required.
The conservatory has a dining area where residents can enjoy lunch alternatively we have a dedicated dining room at the front of the building where the staff play classical music and create a restaurant like atmosphere for our residents to enjoy their lunch.
In addition we have a Cinema room situated on the middle floor with a large projector screen for the residents to enjoy watching movies. There is also dining space in this room. There is also a small quiet area on the middle floor for people to sit and relax in the peace and quiet or to enjoy visits from relatives.
Ashtonleigh is blessed to enjoy the culinary delights of Dot Sheppard who has been with the home since it started 20 years ago. Dot is very much more than just a chef, she gets to know each of the homes residents, and their likes and dislikes for food. She really represents the ethos of the home and strives to offer the residents whatever they wish for. One gentleman for example enjoyed lobster on his 100th birthday, along with a glass of wine, but whatever the residents choice is the home will do its best to cater for this. In addition the home caters for special diets like Diabetes etc.
The meals are all freshly prepared each day. We encourage the residents to come to the dining table everyday and glasses of wine ,red, white or rose, sherry or whiskey are offered to the residents if they wish to partake. If the residents prefer to have their meals in the rooms then we offer drinks to them in their rooms.
